ETHERBURST OPTICAL CARRIER ETHERNET SWITCH PRODUCT LINE

The EtherBurst Optical Carrier Ethernet System consists of two networking elements, the SX-1000 Ethernet Service Node and the PX-1000 Photonic Node. Together these products deliver the first commercially available Optical Carrier Ethernet Switch based upon Ring OBS technology.

Built for deployment in service provider and enterprise networks, EtherBurst delivers 320 Gigabytes of optical transport capacity in a reliable, energy efficient three rack unit (3RU) chassis.

SX-1000 Ethernet Service Nodes
The SX-1000 contains two eBurst™ optical burst switch modules and two Ethernet service interface modules. Fully interoperable with any Ethernet device, the SX-1000 supports standard Ethernet and Carrier Ethernet (MEF 9 and MEF 14 certified) features and protocols.

PX-1000 Photonic Nodes
The PX-1000 contains two eWave™ EDFA optical amplifier modules for connecting the SX-1000 Ethernet Service Nodes to the optical ring. The PX-1000 provides zero-touch optical transport including power management and wavelength planning. Additional SX-1000 or PX-1000 nodes can be deployed in the network without traffic disruption at any time, providing in-service upgrade as the EtherBurst optical packet transport bandwidth grows. The PX-1000’s integrated optical multiplexing capabilities allow it to share the same fiber with existing DWDM transport networks.

MatisseView Management System
MatisseView™ element manager is a simple web-based management tool with comprehensive management capabilities for the entire EtherBurst domain. MatisseView provides Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security (FCAPS) and flow-through provisioning for all the components of the EtherBurst optical packet transport system.

An embedded web-server provides secure access from any browser-enabled computer to MatisseView’s Graphical User Interface (GUI) for managing all aspects of the EtherBurst network, SX-1000, PX-1000 systems and components.
